Traveling through the American heartland, photographer David Ogden discovered a unique collection of presidential busts. Like zombies on the field were 43 huge sculptures, ranging from Dick Nixon and Roosevelt to John F. Kennedy. Busts weigh 11,000 to 20,000 pounds, some 20 feet in height. Almost all the sculptures were covered with cracks, it makes them even more sinister, but they remain recognizable. These sad sculpture in appearance very similar to the giant, mysterious statues of Easter Island. Some presidential busts from that once a single community was more fortunate. For example, Abraham Lincoln's bust is now set before Lincoln RV Park in Williston, North Dakota, and the bust of Theodore Roosevelt is in the Roosevelt Inn in Watford.

Abandoned railroad in Paris | Petite Ceinture
After the French Revolution in 1848, the economy experienced Paris a real upturn. Thus in 1852, the Chemin de fer de Petite Ceinture war build and ring railway line that encircled the then Paris.
But the Metro and trams have quickly outstripped the Petite Ceinture. 1934 passenger was almost completely set, only a small piece of Auteuil to St Lazare station remained until 1996 in operation.
Since the fifth July 1996 went no train along this route. With each new mayor come different plans for resuming operation of the Petite Ceinture, none of them, however, was implemented today. The railway line is enjoying it more and more visitors who balance walking along the rails.

Abandoned Oil Platforms Neft Dashlari In The Caspian Sea
In 1950, Soviet engineers began building a great city in the Caspian Sea off the coast of Azerbaijan. It was a network of oil platforms, linked by hundreds of kilometers of roads. These islands were built housing for 5,000 workers, with a cinema, parks, sports complexes and other institutions. Gradually, the oil reserves were depleted, and now this place Nostalgia for the old dilapidated engineering Soviet man. In 1999, part of the James Bond movie "The World is not enough" was filmed on these platforms. But back to the story. The area of Azerbaijan has been known for its rich oil resources since ancient times.

Abandoned Subway Of Cincinnati | Ohio
Construction work began in Cincinnati metro in 1920. But after seven years dedicated to the project of $ 6 million over and the city authorities have decided that the city is quite complete without the subway. To this conclusion they came after studying the reports of independent experts. Further works were stopped, though by this time had already completed laying of tunnels.

Beelitz Heilstätten Sanatorium | Abandoned German Military Hospital
Beelitzer Heilstaetten Sanatorium in Beelitz, Germany. The complex represents a beautiful abandoned building of the XIX century (in 1898), which was used by the Germans as a military hospital during the Second World War. The resort has come into disrepair and was abandoned completely in 2000. Hospital acquired worldwide fame after treatment of Adolf Hitler, who was recovering after the wounds received in World War I (1916).
